How To Find Similar Pages On Facebook Related To Your Target Audience

Now that we’ve learned how to validate our targets, we’re going to expand to other similar Facebook pages.

The first thing you’re going to do is open up the spreadsheet containing the Facebook pages you’ve already validated.

Open Audience Insights and input one of them in the “Interests” box.

Then click on “Page Likes”

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

These page likes are Facebook pages that are likely to be relevant to your target audience.

On the far right is a column called Affinity.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Affinity gauges how engaged people are with these pages. So the higher the affinity, the more the engagement is in these pages.

For a page to meet our criteria, it needs to have an affinity of 25x or more.

So if a page meets this criteria, visit it to see if it has an audience size of 20-50K users.

Some pages might have a smaller audience size but meet our affinity of 25. In such cases, don’t dismiss these pages. They are still worth considering because of the high level of engagement that they get.

So open up these Facebook pages that meet our criteria.

What we’ll do next is validate them.

For example, StarPlus has an affinity of 2802x and audience of 63.6k.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Click on it to visit it. Copy the name of the page. Then paste it under “Interests” to see if it shows up.

It does show up.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Now we’ve validated StarPlus. It meets our criteria. So we’ll open up our spreadsheet and save it.

And while we’re on the same page, we can scroll through the page likes to see new pages that show up. For example, Hotstar and Ustav Fashion have now showed up and they meet our affinity and audience score.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

So we’ll validate those pages as well.

Do this for all the other Facebook pages that meet our criteria and save them in a spreadsheet.

How to find similar Facebook pages using Facebook ID

As you go through this process, you might find pages that meet our criteria but aren’t validating. If you want to target these pages, there’s a way we can go about it. You first have to find the Facebook ID of the page.

To do that, go to find my FB ID.

Then take the URL of the Facebook page that wasn’t validating and copy it.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Then paste it in the Find my Facebook ID search box.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Then click “Find my numeric ID”

Our Facebook ID will be extracted and shown in the next page as numerals.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Now that we have the Facebook ID, we’re going to find similar pages.

Input this into your search bar: www.facebook.com/pages/?frompageid=

Then copy the numeric Facebook ID that was extracted and paste it after the URL above.

So it would look something like this.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Once you click enter, it will bring up all the Facebook pages similar to the one that we extracted the Facebook ID from.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Scroll through these new potential targets and click on the ones that are applicable. Then go through the process of validating these facebook pages and save the ones that meet our criteria in a spreadsheet.

Ideally we want to come up with 15-20 very highly targeted interests that you could potentially use in your marketing.

CONCLUSION

Now that we have a highly targeted list, our next move will be to prepare for launching our ads. More on that in the coming posts.

How To Validate Targets Using Facebook Audience Insights

How To Validate Targets Using Facebook Audience Insights

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

What is Facebook Audience Insights?

Facebook Audience Insights (FB AI) is a tool that helps you learn more about your target audience. And as we’ve already established, the more you know about your customer, the better your marketing message will be, leading to massive sales.

This handy tool will give you information about your audience’s demographics, location, lifestyles, purchase patterns, relationship status, job titles, and so much more. It will also help you find more people similar to the ones in your current audience.

So not only are you learning a ton about your audience, you’re also finding more people who would resonate with your content.

What is target validation?

When we validate a target, we’re basically confirming if it meets the criteria that we’ve set in place.

The best criteria in this case would be:

  • 1
Does the page show up when you plug it in the FB AI tool? (I’ll explain what I mean in a minute)
  • 2
Does the page have 20K to 50K active users?

How to validate targets using Facebook Audience Insights

Now I’m going to walk you through the process of validating targets.

Open up FB AI tool.

To do that, go to Facebook Audience Insights. Click on “Go to Audience Insights”. If this is your first time using the tool, you’ll be guided through a small tour.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Next, go back to the spreadsheet of Facebook page links that we saved from this post and open it up.

Now we’ll begin the process of validating these Facebook pages.

Take the name of the first Facebook page and plug it in the box under “Interests”

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Does the name show up? Ideally it should.

For example, let’s take the Facebook page Bigg Boss. When we plug it in, it shows up automatically in a dropdown box.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Click on the page you’ve plugged in and see what comes up.

As you’ll see, Facebook will give you a wealth of information about the particular page you searched. Demographics, age and gender, relationship status, education, job title, and so much more

Using the Bigg Boss example, let’s check to see if it meets our criteria.

First, it showed up when we plugged it in.

And second, does it have 20K-50K users? Yes, It has 150k to 200k monthly active users.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

So now we’ve validated that Facebook page. Bigg Boss is a valid target.

Keep doing this for all the Facebook pages you saved until you remain with the ones that are valid.  These will help you create a targeted audience that will be interested in your products or services.

How To Use The Google Keyword Tool To Find Targeted Lists

How To Use The Google Keyword Tool To Find Targeted Lists

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

In this previous post, I showed you the 3 things you need to get started with your market research.

Today I’m going to show you how to find targeted lists using the Google Keyword tool.

The first thing you do is log in to your Google AdWords account and open the Google Keyword Planner.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

You’ll use the keyword planner to help you discover new keywords related to your products and services and compare trends on keyword search volume.

Once you open the tool, insert the keywords we brainstormed before from this post. Separate each keyword with a comma.

Make sure the targeting is set for the desired location. For example, if you’re in the US, check to see that your location is set. Or if you want to target another location, then put in your desired location.

When you’re done, click on “get ideas” at the bottom to see what the tool comes up with.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

On the next page that comes up, click on “Keyword ideas”.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Your aim now is to look for keywords that have a decent monthly search volume.

For the keywords that you like, add them to your plan by clicking the arrows on the far right.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Do this for all the keywords that seem like a good fit. You don’t need many of them. Just about 5 or 6 is enough.

Once you’re satisfied, download the list as a CSV file by clicking the download button on the far right of the page.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Now that you have your list of keywords, the next thing you’ll do is open up the Google Display Planner.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Then click on where it says “search for new target ideas using the phrase, website or category.”

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Remember the keyword list you saved as a CSV? Open it up and copy it. Then paste it on the display planner to search for new target ideas.

Then click on “Get placement ideas”

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

The next page that will come up will show you all the placement ideas. In other words, the websites that have a big following and get a significant amount of traffic.

What you’ll do now is identify placements or websites that have an average of 50,000 impressions per week.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Websites with 50k impressions per week generally have a Facebook page that will validate. And you're going to use that as the beginning point to begin to build our target interest.

So click on any website that meets this criteria and visit their page to find their Facebook page.

Once you find it, go to the Facebook page and copy the Facebook page link. Save the link on a separate spreadsheet.

Keep doing this for as many sites as you can until you’ve got a satisfactory list of Facebook page links.

The next step will involve validating these placements, which we'll talk about in the next post.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, let’s recap everything in this post.

Once you log in to your Adwords account:

  • 1
    Open the Google Keyword Planner
  • 2
    Type in your main keywords
  • 3
    Gather targeted lists from Google
  • 4
Save suggested keyword list as CSV file
  • 5
    Open the Google Display Planner
  • 6
Type in your targeted list saved from 4 above
  • 7
    Review the suggested placements
  • 8
Identify placements with 50k impressions per week
  • 9
View placement website and check for Facebook page link
  • 10
Add top placements with Facebook page to a list

Next, we'll look at how to validate these placement websites.

The 3 Things You Need To Hack Your Market Research

The 3 Things You Need To Hack Your Market Research

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Successful selling is grounded on the foundation of thorough market research. Even before you create your product or service, a lot of time and energy should be spent on researching the market to find out what problems exist and how they can be solved.

When you know your audience, where they hang out, and what problems they have, selling becomes easier.

Before diving in to your market research though, there are 3 important things you need:

1. Google Adwords account

A Google Adwords account will help you build a list of targeted keywords related to your audience.

It’s free to sign up for one. Go to ads.google.com and create an account.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

Setting it up is pretty straightforward. Just follow the instructions and you’ll have your Google Adwords account up and running in no time.

If you’ve been banned before, no worries. Just sign up from another computer.

2. Facebook ads account

A Facebook ads account is crucial because you’ll need it to be able to run and test targeted interests.

It’s also a free tool to use.

You can set it up with your personal facebook profile. But if you’re going to be managing several ad accounts, I’d recommend creating a business manager account.

To do that, go to https://business.facebook.com/ and create an account.

FB-Ad-Agency-Online-Business-fb-ad-high-ticket-avatar-method

You’ll then be required to enter your business name and your business email address.

Once that is done, you’ll be redirected to your newly created account where you’ll need to add your Pages, ad accounts and other people.

If you need help with that, check the bottom of this page for articles and tutorials.

3. Your target market

Who is your target market?

For example, if you’re in the real estate industry, you need to have a basic idea of who it is you’re after. Start brainstorming and come up with a list of keywords. Some examples would be: Real estate investing, Real estate investor, Flipping houses.

It all depends on the niche you’re targeting.

Luckily, you don't have to spend a lot of time brainstorming keywords because the method that I'm going to show you is actually going to provide you with a lot of that data as to exactly who your target market is.

CONCLUSION

Now that we have these 3 things, our next focus will be using a keyword tool to find targeted lists. This is what we’re going to be talking about in our next post, which will be up tomorrow.
